Greetings, meta-friends! Today, we’ll explore a core gameplay component in our game: combination effects. As originally announced, early access will be made available to users next month and individuals who own Stewart Island pastures will be able to participate in the early access phase. Until then, we’ll continue to deliver gameplay insights to keep you up to date on just about everything!

There has been much discussion about why large pastures, which allow you to raise five sheep, are more expensive than two small pastures, each capable of holding three sheep. Let’s take a look at some of the perks of triggering combination effects and why larger pastures are more beneficial.

What are combo effects and how can they be activated?

Some things are simply better together! Peanut butter and jelly. Unicorns and glitter. Shrek and Fiona.

The term “Combo effect” refers to the increased potency that occurs when multiple components are combined. It’s like you’re chowing down on a cheeseburger and fries at a fast-food joint. You add a Coke to that and suddenly the world is a better place!

Sheepfarm in Meta-land also includes a variety of similar pairings. Sheep are social creatures. While grazing, they usually stick together as a group. If a sheep is separated from the rest of the flock, it will become quite agitated. It is the banding together in groups that make them feel safe and happy!

Bring out the best in them by grouping them with their friends, and you’ll be able to trigger some powerful combo effects!

Here’s an example:

If you have both male and female Plain White sheep on your pasture, you will trigger the combo “Ordinary Couple” and receive a bonus effect. Some combos can be triggered with only two sheep, while others require as many as five. Naturally, a combo triggered by larger groups will have stronger benefits. The colourful sheep you can obtain from our Rainbow Airdrop Event will allow you to achieve the 5x combo effect “Somewhere over the rainbow”.

In case you missed it, our Rainbow Airdrop event is still ongoing, and you can learn more about it here (link).

Are combo effects really important?

When it comes to running a sheep farm, combo effects are crucial. Wool production might be significantly quicker depending on which combination of sheep you hold! However, five rare sheep without a combo effect in your pasture will be less effective than five normal sheep with a combo effect enabled. Additionally, in order to trigger even more powerful combo effects, some combinations will require the use of rare sheep.

We’ll have a detailed list of combo effects available on our website when the game has been released.

It will be necessary to collect and keep sheep in order to discover combos. Because the list of triggerable effects is continuously updated, it’s advisable not to sell all of your unused sheep right away, as they may turn out to be important puzzle pieces in the future!

You should also keep in mind that, while the sheep’s breed matters, the gender of the sheep is also relevant.

We hope this post inspires you to make better choices while purchasing pastures during our pre-sale. We realize you’re probably eager to learn how to obtain even more sheep before the game’s release, so next week we’ll be talking about Luckybox and Morphing. We’ll also have some more news about gameplay features!
