May fortune favour you: Lunar New Year Event
Year of the tiger: “You cannot get a tiger cub without entering the tiger’s den” is a phrase used to say that it is necessary to take risks for great reward.

A new moon, a new event, and new rewards are on the horizon!
Lunar New Year is just around the corner and is one of the world’s longest holidays. It is usually celebrated across several days, with colourful parades, fireworks, and lanterns. We celebrate everything that’s good in our lives, including fortune, prosperity, as well as the beginning of spring. The festivities are highlighted by a variety of ceremonies and rituals which in some ways reflect the 12 animal zodiac signs. To commemorate the Year of the tiger, we’re bringing a bunch of rich new rewards for you to unlock! The Lunar new year Event will start on January 26 and end on February 6 12:00 p.m(UTC).
Lunar New Year is an ancient tradition, although this time around, it will be a little bit more high-tech since we’ll be celebrating it in the Meta-land! Let’s take a closer look at what this event has to offer.
How it will work:
The general concept of this event is fairly similar to our New Year’s event that we hosted not too long ago, and although this event is open to everyone, individuals who own at least one pasture will automatically be granted premium participation status, otherwise referred to as the Shepherd’s Pass. Owning no pastures is equivalent to a Free Pass, but that doesn’t mean you won’t be able to reap some rewards!
Participants in the event earn red envelopes by inviting friends! There will be a total of 5 levels, with each level requiring you to earn referral points in order to advance.
How to participate:
- On our discord server, go to the ‘lunar-new-year-2022’ channel.
- Follow the instructions from the ‘tiger-bot’ and connect your wallet.
- If you enter a code from a friend, both you and your friend will receive 1 referral point. If you don’t have a code, click on ‘I have no friends’
- Once you have completed the previous steps, you will be able to retrieve your code.
- Share your referral code with as many friends as you’d like.
- You can always return to see how many times your code was used and what rewards you will receive from the ‘tiger-bot’.
The maximum number of red envelopes u can earn with the Free Pass is 9, but if you are a pasture holder, you can receive 19 additional red envelopes, bringing the total to 28! The red envelopes will contain vouchers for Marmalade Tokens(MARD) with a randomly assigned value ranging from 1 to 8 MARD. Your vouchers will be redeemable for tokens after the early access version of the game is released! However, please keep in mind that you must own at least one pasture in order to claim your MARD.
There will also be a leaderboard and rewards to strive for, which will be similar to but not identical to our recent New Year referral event! This time, instead of being rated by the number of referral points you acquire, you will be rated by the number of pastures you own in order to reach the leaderboard. To put it differently, the more pastures you own, the more points you get. As a result, only those who own pastures will be able to participate in this segment of the event.
Leaderboard reward specifics:
- Small pasture = 10 points
- Medium pasture = 15 points
- Large pasture = 20 points
➤ 1st place: Epic Sheep
➤ 2nd — 10th place: Rare Sheep
➤ 11th — 100th place: Normal Sheep
A total of 100 users can receive a sheep! The leaderboard will be refreshed and updated with the latest information once every hour, so make sure to check back often. Due to the nature of this event, Shepherd’s Pass holders will not be eligible to receive their rewards if they sell their pastures before the event ends. You must therefore hold onto your land until the event expires!
✦ All rewards, including envelopes and sheep, will be distributed on the 7th of February.
✦ MARD vouchers can be exchanged for tokens following the release of the early access version.
✦ If a rank is tied, the winner will be selected according to who reached the position first.
